A couple of weeks ago I saw Nikkitutorials rave about this selfie ring light but I never really was interested with it since the one she used can be purchased abroad, and I’m from the Philippines, so purchasing one selfie ring light won’t be practical if I have to pay a shit ton of money for shipping and handling.

I was browsing the Lazada website when I bumped into this product! It doesn’t have a brand name on the box though or the box is in Chinese so I don’t know if it does or does not say it’s brand!? Maybe the latter one explains it. 😂

Anyway, I purchased this selfie ring light from xcsource shop on Lazada for  999 php ( I searched it again and it’s now 899 php! waaa). I don’t know if it’s a great price or not but I purchased it anyway to see if it’s any good and of course so I can have a bomb ass photo! That’s the main thing right there! 😁

So far I LOVE it! It has 3 brightness levels. You can press the button on the top part of the product and choose the level you prefer. I love the 3rd one since it’s the brightest!

I also used it on my digital camera to see if there would be any difference on the lighting if I use it for recording videos and let’s just say it worked and I was high key spazzing on it!

Here are my pros and cons on this product:

PROS

• Value for money
• Good quality product considering it’s made in China (I only had this for about 2 weeks so I’ll keep you posted if it’s REALLY a great product or not. But so far it is!)
• Very bright ring light
• Very light considering it’s bigger than the usual camera lights for phones.
• Has a sleek design.
• It’s a clip in selfie ring light so it’s basically universal.

CONS

• It’s bigger than most compact camera lights.
• It’s NOT rechargeable. You have to use a 2 AAA battery to use it. (The product came with 2 AAA batteries so a big thumbs up to the shop for providing it with that.) I’d rather prefer a rechargeable one but I don’t know if they have it.
• You can see your fingerprints on the front part since it’s a shiny part. (I don’t really know how to describe it but it’s not really a big deal! 😜)

When I received the product the box was a bit squished. I also got this 2 weeks after I paid it. It did say on Lazada when the product will arrive. This is from abroad (as indicated from the site) so I had to wait for 2 weeks to get this and maybe that’s why the box was deformed?? due to transferring it from one place to another??

Anyway, I’m not really sure if xcsource shop is a local shop or not but their address is in Makati, Philippines so.. Or maybe it’s the Lazada address?? Not really important! As long as I get my product on time and doesn’t have any damages then I’m good with it! 🙂

So if you’ll ask me if you need this in your life or not? Definitely not! It’s a WANT and not a NEED tbh. But if you’re someone who wants to have a bomb ass photo or someone who wants to use this as a ring light for filming or what not then I’d say you need this! It would be really good for product shots too!

Now, if you’ll use this for filming then it would be better if you buy a rechargeable one because it’s practical!
