When in Davao: Ttalgi Ne Korean Restaurant (Is it good here?)

Ttalgi ne Korean Restaurant is a small restaurant located just beside the entrance of Damosa, Market Basket. Me and my boyfriend originally wanted to try a different Korean Restaurant but since we can’t locate it at that time we went here instead.

MENU

As you can see from the photos below, their menu is very simple. It’s not a big deal actually but for me the visuals are one of the selling points of a restaurant.

I wanted to eat Samgyeopsal but it’s not on their menu which was odd since that dish is probably one of the best selling dishes at Korean Restaurants.

There are a lot of dishes which were not available at that time hence the reason why a couple decided to leave the restaurant instead.

FOOD

We ordered Pork Bulgogi served with rice (they forgot to serve the rice! I didn’t ask for it again since I don’t eat a lot of rice anyway), Kimbap and Udon with fishcake. I wanted just the fishcake but they don’t have it on their menu so I ordered that one instead. I’m not sure if they do serve it separately though. Correct me if I’m wrong.

All of the dishes we ordered were OK for me. It’s definitely not the best I have tasted but that’s okay. They could have served more side dishes though but they gave us only 3 probably because we ordered 3 dishes only?

I was also confused when they gave us lettuces together with our pork bulgogi. I have ordered the said dish a couple of times from different restaurants but this is the first time they served it with lettuces and a paste thingy (Not sure what that is). I mean, I might be wrong but is it supposed to be eaten with a lettuce and a paste? I thought I was eating Samgyeopsal instead of Bulgogi. lol

I’m not sure if he enjoyed the food! Lol
They only served 3 side dishes probably because we only ordered 3 dishes as well? The one on the left is not a side dish I think it’s a paste or something. I’m not sure. Kimbap is not a side dish as well. We ordered that separately. lol

PLACE

The place is small as you can tell from the pictures. This is not probably the best ig perfect place if that’s what your after. They don’t have the best ventilation as well but thank God it rained that time so it didn’t matter as much. lol

I am not bitching the restaurant or anything but overall the place is okay. I wouldn’t really recommend it here since as I said there are a lot of dishes that are not available at that time. The ventilation isn’t that good and the food wasn’t as great as the other Korean restaurants I’ve tried. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not bad either. But if you are already here at the time your reading this then might as well try it for yourself as we don’t have the same opinions anyway. :p
