DIY: Lipstick and Lipgloss Holder

You’re probably one of those who has a lot of lipstick holders on their online cart but hasn’t bought it yet because of how ridiculous the price is?

Well, I’m one of them! I particularly don’t wanna spend too much on something that I can make. Hmm buying makeup is another issue and that should not be questioned! 😀

Anyway, I saw Patrickstarrr did this and thought I’ll do it as well.

Things you need:

-I only have one empty lipstick box as of the moment and it probably wouldn’t hold you big lipsticks but if you attach a lot of them then there won’t be any problems-

First, measure your box using a tape measure or a ruler (I don’t have one so I just used this instead) to make each end even.

Next, is to draw a line on both sides of the box so you know where to cut it.

Then, flatten the box so you can cut it easily.

As you can see on the picture this particular box has some extra fold inside so what I did was to cut it off so there won’t be any problems when you put your lipstick/lipgloss/lip liners inside.

This is how it will look so far…

Next, is to cut about half an inch or an inch of scotch tape depending on your preference to bind the two together.

Patrickstarr binded the two cut boxes on the sides but I prefer binding it inside to it looks more cleaner.

Cut the flap on the sides of the inner edges of both boxes so it is easier to put scotch tape inside or as I said it depends on you preference. You can cut both of the flappy sides of the box or just the inner parts.

This is how it will look like after all of that.

It would be better if you made many of these so that it can hold your big lipsticks or liquid lipsticks, etc. and it won’t fall off easily too.

Of course you can customize the one you made by spray painting it with any color you want or you can also attach popsicle sticks all over the box to make it cuter and put any design you want to have.

I didn’t spend anything on this DIY since I already have the things I needed to do this. Well, I did buy the box together with the liquid lipstick but you get what I mean. :p

Hope to see your creations as well.

Will customize this as soon as I get some other designs. 🙂

xo,

Ela
