I was browsing through my gallery when I saw pictures when we were in Bohol last October 2015 and thought I’d post it here to share our trip with you guys. Though many of you might think “what do I care?”. Lol 🙂
There are different ways to travel to Bohol, I am from Davao City by the way, by either plane or by car. We chose to ride the airplane because it’s faster.
We did not chose a flight flying directly to Bohol since we will be going to Cebu after Bohol. So from Davao to Cebu then to Bohol to Cebu then Davao. It’s more convenient. 🙂
Travel Duration:
Land:15 hours and 22 minutes
Air: 1 hour
There are 5 companies operating from Cebu City to Bohol. They are Kinswell Shipping Lines, Ocean Fast Ferries, WEESAM EXPRESS, f.j. Palacio Lines Incorporated and Cokaliong Shipping Lines, Inc. I won’t go over them one by one instead you can check the website where I got the information from here and here.
We rode Ocean Jet by Ocean Fast Ferries which the fare from Cebu to Tagbilaran and vice versa is Peso 800.00 (Tourist class), Peso 1000.00 (Business class).
Travel Duration: 2 hours
There are more affordable jets going from Cebu to Bohol and we didn’t know that since most of us haven’t been to Cebu City nor Bohol yet. You can check the links above for more affordable rides.
Ocean jet has aircon so our travel to Bohol was comfortable. They also sell food on the jet.
So on our first day, we arrived at Tagbilaran wharf where there are many van drivers who offer tour packages. We already had someone contacted before we arrived so we just waited for him at the wharf.
We didn’t go directly to a hotel or a resort but instead we started our tour since we will only be there for 3 days and 2 nights. We arrived there almost noon so it’s freaking hot. I didn’t bring any sunblock too so you already know what happened! Lol.
Honestly I forgot how much we paid exactly for the tour package since this happened last year.
For more information on Bohol Trip packages and how much it cost click here.
They have three packages: Country side tour, Panglao tour, and Island hopping tour.
Day 1: Countryside tour (Not in order. ) We paid more or less 1,000 php each on this package for a group of 7 people.
Note: Url’s on informations we visited will be hyperlinked.
Blood Compact
Blood Compact was an ancient ritual in the Philippines intended to seal a friendship or treaty, or to validate an agreement. The contracting parties would cut their wrists and pour their blood into a cup filled with liquid, such as wine, and drink the mixture.
Chocolate Hills
The Chocolate Hills (Filipino: Tsokolateng Burol) are a geological formation in the Bohol province of the Philippines. They are covered in green grass that turns brown (like chocolate) during the dry season, hence the name.
We had to endure walking up the stairs though just to see the view. Nevertheless, it was worth it! 🙂
Bilar Man-made Forest
Bilar man-made forest was part of a bigger reforestation project that was created in response to the alarming deforestation in the Loboc watershed.
The place was really awesome! The place looks so relaxing and cool. In fact, someone did a photo shoot there for a pre-nup or something. :p
Sipatan Hanging Bridge
All we did here honestly were to take pictures and walk at the end of the bridge then go back. Lol. But that experience was worth it! They were more scared walking on those bamboo bridge than me surprisingly. Lol 🙂
They have an entrance fee of more or less 50 php I think. I’m not sure. But it’s just a small price to pay.
Loboc River Cruise
We had lunch at the floating restaurant and we paid more or less 750 php since it was a buffet style. If you had seen a lot of rivers then this might not interest you but they do have stopovers where you can see people dancing and doing the “Tinikling”. It’s pretty amusing really since most of the people singing in the background were at the age of 50’s and above. If you want to to just relax while eat then this may be perfect for you.
If you want to check the dance performance they did, you can go check it here.
Tarsier Sanctuary
There weren’t many tarsiers when we went so it’s kind of sad. They have an entrance fee of 50 php for 30-60 minute visit.
Prony the Python
Prony was the biggest python in captivity. She already died at age 17. They say that the normal lifespan of a python was only 15.
Prony weighed about 280 kilograms and measured 23 feet. The center of her body was measured at 34 inches, She was kept in a steel cage.
The mini zoo has an entrance fee of 20 php.
Before finally going to a room our driver suggested we had a stop over here at the ship haus.
This post is probably already long so I have to cut it into two.
Read the part II of our Bohol trip next time. 🙂

Ela
P.S I wasn’t into taking good pictures back then so sorry for my poor quality pictures. 🙂
