Spring Makeup Look

Hey!

Ever had a moment when you checked your old palettes and when you swatched one of them it turned out to be really good? Well, that happened to me yesterday.

I had this BH Cosmetics Dake Rose Palette for a long time already but this is the first time I used its’ eyeshadows. I have used the blushes and they’re really pretty as well. The reason why I did not used it ’cause I bought the That’s Heart palette and the eyeshadows back then turned out to be honestly crappy. The face products on it is pretty good though. (P.S They don’t sell this on their site anymore. Sorry! It’s sold on amazon and ebay but they sell it for twice the price so I don’t recommend that you buy it there. There are other brands that do have this though so you might as well use that. 🙂 )

Actually, I tried using this palette because I was drawn to the green shade! It shouted SPRING to me! 😀

My camera did not do any justice even. It’s more pigmented in person and on the eyes!

Anyway, here’s a step by step guide on how I did this makeup look. 🙂

After prepping your face, apply your favorite primer. I used Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser for this makeup look.

The eyeshadow I used on this look doesn’t have a lot of fallout so I decided to do my BB cream first.

Since it’s really hot here in the Philippines, I used a BB cream instead of a foundation.
After applying BB Cream I decided to do my eyes but before applying a particular primer I have to set my lids with this transparent powder from Rimmel first to avoid creasing. (For some reason, I thought this was a translucent powder instead of a transparent one. Is there a translucent shade on this line?? or am I just hallucinating? lol)
But then I realized I’m almost done with it! 🙁 Good thing I have a back up! 🙂
So anyway, this Mac Painterly paint pot doesn’t work on my lids if I use this without setting any powder first. I planned to give this to someone when I read about setting your oily lids to have less creasing first somewhere on the web. And it worked!
After applying the eye primer I set it again with a powder to make the shadows blend easily.

There’s no crease shade on the palette so I used a bronzer instead. This is the NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in Sunny.

I am Asian so my crease is pretty much not visible when I gaze straight ahead so I applied the bronzer above on my actual crease.

That derp face though! Lol. Anyway, it’s the first time using this product as well. This is the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk. This will make your shadow pop more. I just applied Milk on my lids just below the “crease” and blended it with my finger.

I looked possessed! Haha. So, my most awaited part is the lid shade. The shadows don’t have any names so let’s just say I used the green shimmery shade on my entire lid.

This camera made the shadow less vibrant though! Urgh. Anyway, I just blended shadow to make it more seemless. I used the brush with the bronzer at first but then I realized I’m gonna use it again for touching up my crease so I used another clean brush instead.

After that, I used a dark brown on the outer edge of my eyes. I blended it with the same brush I used on the picture.

After I’m contented with how my eye makeup look I wen straight for concealer. I used the LA Girl HD Pro Conceal in creamy beige. This is actually drying on my undereyes but if you used an eye cream beforehand and set it immediately then you will not have any problems with creasing and all.
This is how I basically put concealer on my face! lol. I know you have to make the V-shape to brighten your face but I’m not in the mood for that so this is what happened. xD I just blended it with my Real Techniques Sculpting Brush.
I set my concealer with the same transparent powder. I was looking up to make sure my concealer won’t crease.
This is my favorite eyebrow liner as of the moment. This is the Etude House drawing eye brow in 03.
This is practically how I draw my eyebrows. I outline them first then fill in with the pencil and then brush it to make it less harsh looking.

Then I used the NYX Tinted brow mascara in brunette to tame my brows.

My personal fave is bronzing up the face. I used a stippling brush from E.L.F if I want my bronze to be subtle. I switch brushes if I want it to be more noticeable like my big fan brush I posted a while back on my favorite brushes.

For blush, I just used the same brush and a mixture of the first and second blush from the palette.
If you want to chisel your face without using a brush for contouring then you can just bake below your cheekbones instead with your favorite powder. I didn’t bake but instead used my Rimmel powder below the cheekbones.

Next is my second favorite part about makeup. Highlighting! I use my Mary-Lou manizer from theBalm and used a fan brush for it. It’s also mentioned on my favorite brushes blog. I also blogged about my highlighters recently.

This is how theBalm looks like.
To finish my eyes, I just copied the shadows from my lids. Green shadow on my lower lid then the bronzer to blend it in. The dark brown shadow from the palette on the outer side of the lower lids.
Then I just applied the NYX Jumbo Pencil on the inside of my lower lid to make my eyes more awake and bigger. :p
For mascara, I used my benefit Roller Lash on both the upper and lower lashes. I didn’t not use eyeliner nor fake lashes because I want it to look simple and I just didn’t want to. Lol. But if you want you can use it of course.

For my lips, I used my Nichido Lip liner in Rosette. As you can see, it’s almost in half because I love this so much.

I topped my lips with the Gerard Cosmetics Lip gloss in Nude. And that’s about it with my makeup!

And oh! Don’t forget about the snapchat filter! 😀

Here’s the final result. I hope you like it! 🙂

My next blog is about how to achieve a beachy hair. I mean, a lot of people are cutting their hair since summer is near but then again I love my long hair so might as well style it to look cute. xD

See you next time!

Xo,

Ela

P.S Some shadows on the palette are not that pigmented on the lids like the pink shimmery shadow. Some are also chalky like the silver one. Black shimmery shadow is not that dark as well. But aside from that this is a good palette.
