Stash: Highlighters

Highlighters and Bronzers are two of my favorite makeup products. Skipping these steps is a sin and doesn’t make me feel right. I skipped it a couple of times when I was in Cebu and Bohol and I thought my face doesn’t look good as much as I do with those products on. Lol (Or should I say my face looked rounder as ever! xD)

I shouldn’t be buying more makeup but what can I do, it’s also a sin I can never get out of my system. 🙂

For this blog post, I’ll be focusing on my highlighter collection.

I use each one of them for different occasions and what I feel I want to wear that day. The highlighters below are of no particular order.

BH Cosmetics That’s Heart Palette

(Left swatch: Natural Lighting, Right Swatch: With flash)

This is such a beautiful highlight. It looks white on the palette and on the swatch but looks gold when applied to the top of your cheeks. I remembered my colleague from work when he noticed my highlight and he was two meters away from me. Lol. It may look powdery on my finger but it doesn’t on the skin. It has a sheen on it and doesn’t have glitters unlike other highlighters. It doesn’t look messy too. 🙂 It’s limited edition though so.. Type: Gold highlight. Recommend: I don’t like the eyeshadows on this palette, the face products are good though especially the highlighter. It’s pretty cheap so it depends if you still want to buy it or not. The only problem is it was limited edition so they don’t have it on the BH Cosmetics website anymore. Forgive me! ;p

The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer

(Left swatch: Natural Lighting, Right Swatch: With flash)

One of my favorite highlighters. This is the first high-end highlighter I got and was not disappointed since I got it. I always get compliments when I’m wearing it. It’s also perfect for special occasions or just normal days when you want a poppin’ highlight. 🙂 Type:  It is a peachy intense highlight perfect for fair-medium skin tone. Recommend: Definitely!!

Elf Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder in Sun Kissed

(Left swatch: Natural Lighting, Right Swatch: With flash)

It is originally a bronzer but I use it for highlighting. It looks dark on the picture but when swatched it really doesn’t is. I had this for a really long time so I don’t know if it’s really powdery. It is powdery when swatched but doesn’t have glitters on it. Type: A golden highlight perfect for medium skin tone. Recommend: It’s good but you can live without it.

City Color Intense Exposure Highlighting Powder

(Left swatch: Natural Lighting, Right Swatch: With flash)

This is best suited for pale/light skin tones. I use it together with the elf sun kissed so that it would suit my medium skin tone. It has some glitters on it and that’s what I don’t like about this product. Type: Has some golden specs but not that noticeable. Recommend: No, because I like highlighters that has sheen on it more than glitters.

ELF Warm Bronzer Palette

(Left swatch: Natural Lighting, Right Swatch: With flash)

I love this! Not just for the highlight but the whole product itself. I do use it more as a bronzer for my casual hangout but the highlighter itself is perfect for your everyday glow. It’s not like the Mary-Lou nor the Champagne pop though but it still is pretty. Type: Subtle golden highlight. Recommend: YES!! TIP: Swirl your brush all over the product to get a beautiful glowy bronze on your skin. I only use it on the cheeks ’cause it does have small pecs of glitter but not too much though.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Champagne Pop

(Left swatch: Natural Lighting, Right Swatch: With flash)

One of the best highlighters I own! This and Mary-Lou are my favorite. It’s so soft that I want to swatch it over and over again but then again it would be a waste considering how much this is! Lol. This is one of those highlights where you cannot stop looking at it. Makes you look a little conceited though. xD Type: Peachy golden highlight. It has small specs of glitter but shows so fine on the skin. Recommend: Definitely YES! Not a waste of your cash. The only problem is that if you’re not careful it may easily break apart.

I do have other highlighters but I don’t know if you like seeing those. Comment below if you want these kinds of blog post. 🙂

Xo,

Ela
