Another day, another year!
June 6 was my Mama’s 52nd birthday and Papa came home because of it and ‘coz he kind of did not enjoyed his stay last year ‘coz of a lot of things. Blah blah blah. And by “blah” I meant our car! Lol.
Anywaaaaay! We picked up Pops from the airport at around 5am, though he arrived at 4:30 am ( earlier than his expected time of arrival), and went home just to drop his luggages then ate breakfast at my aunt’s place!
Seriously, she cooks really really good! We had Adobong pusit and Kinilaw! I did not tasted the Kinilaw just because I don’t eat raw foods! But I think it tasted delicious as my family dug their spoons on it first before the Adobong Pusit!
And then, we rested a bit at home as we did not get a lot of sleep that night. :p
We had dinner at a restaurant here in Davao City called “Rekado” with my Mom’s sisters and their respective family. I suggested to eat there because the first time we were there I thought the food, the ambience, and the interior of the restaurant were great! Some staffs there though tend to be called twice before they would entertain you. Some would ignore and some were accommodating. People differ so yeah.
When we arrived. The place was packed so we had to wait there for a couple of minutes. It would be best to call for reservations if you don’t want to wait. (Who loves to wait right!?)
Anyway, we had pork soup (which I don’t know the name. lol), beef steak, churos (love it!), seafood platter, Chopsuey, fried chicken and shrimp sinigang (LOVE it!).
Every dishes served were really good. I would recommend anyone to eat there because I think they make their dishes extra special. And by special I meant by marinating their green mango to garlic! I don’t know if it’s original or it’s just my first time tasting that or what.
Oh! And they also gave my mom a complimentary cake for birthday celebrants! 🙂
The next day we went to Mergrande to celebrate her birthday again with my father’s side of the family. The beach was a bit dirty and the pool was ok though. Anyway, we weren’t there for the view but to bond and celebrate Mama’s birthday and Papa’s vacation.
Overall we had fun and that’s what’s important! 🙂
